This deed was made between Argaleus Henderson and his son John on November 9, 1804. This action was taken after Argaleus made his will.
Argaleus apparently left John out of his original will and later issued this deed to John awarding him the house and land where he (John) resided.
RECORD OF DEEDS
This Indenture made the ninth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and four betwixt Hercules Henderson of the county of Chatham and state of North Carolina of the part and John Henderson of the county and state aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that I the said Hercules Henderson have by these presents give unto my son John Henderson the house and plantation whereon he now lives all that part of my deeded land being on the East side of the Meadow Branch lying and being situated on the North side of Brookses Creek by estimation one hundred and fifty acres more or less beginning on my old line runing South down the said meadow to the said Creek thence North to a post and thence West to the first station. My life time reserved as usual on the said land and I the said Hercules Henderson do warrant and defend the said land from any claim or claims from me or my heirs. Executors administrators and assigns to be his lawful right and property and peasably (sic) to enjoy. Whereof I ha

Chatham County November Sessions 1804. This Deed duly proved in open court by the oath of John Hackney, Senr. subscribing witnesses and ordered to be registered.
